The 2026 Z900RS Muffler Has Finally Arrived
The ARCHI 2026 model muffler, which has been the subject of many inquiries from 2026 Z900RS users, is finally here. This time, we're bringing you a sneak peek of the development story and the muffler sound during development.
The Popular 427 Shorty Muffler Evolves Further.
A 2026 model of the 427 Shorty Muffler (6-piece) is scheduled for release, which has been well-received by many riders. *Currently, there are no development plans for the 1-piece muffler.
We are currently proceeding with development towards productization, continuously refining the details through repeated design and prototyping. It has already obtained JMCA certification. We are now conducting final running tests on the actual vehicle to confirm all aspects, including output characteristics, riding feel, sound, and durability.
PMC's Dedication Embodied in a Modern Machine.
The reason ARCHI mufflers are chosen is their style. Many mufflers that comply with recent exhaust gas regulations often feature a catalyst, commonly known as a "lunchbox," which houses the catalytic converter and silencing structure.
ARCHI is born from PMC, a parts manufacturer that has long been involved with classic motorcycles.
Because we know the beautiful silhouette of legendary motorcycles from that era, we have a strong desire to preserve the original beautiful styling of the vehicle as much as possible, even amidst increasingly strict regulations. While many manufacturers place the catalyst ("lunchbox") under the vehicle, it is not easy to incorporate its function inside the muffler while complying with regulations for 2026 and beyond.
Through repeated design revisions, prototyping, and verification, we have finally arrived at the current muffler. It achieves a high level of both functionality and design, further enhancing the appeal of your beloved motorcycle – that is the ARCHI approach to manufacturing.
Inheriting the DNA
Furthermore, the single pin located in the center of the muffler end is designed as an homage to the early Z1 muffler. While it may seem like a small detail, it embodies ARCHI's unique commitment to passing on the DNA of a legendary motorcycle to the present day.
Commitment to "Iron Pipes"
While titanium and stainless steel offer benefits like beautiful heat coloring and lightness, ARCHI deliberately chooses iron due to the commitment cultivated over many years as a classic motorcycle parts manufacturer. It is iron that can express a deep sound, a sense of pulsation that evokes nostalgia, and a presence reminiscent of昭和-era legendary motorcycles.
The muffler, pursuing such commitment, is undergoing final running tests on the actual vehicle, and development is finally in its final stages. Upon clearing all tests and reaching the quality standards ARCHI demands, the 2026 model will be announced. Please look forward to it.
EXHAUST SOUND
Here's a sneak peek at the exhaust sound of the muffler currently under development. A rich and flavorful exhaust sound that only iron pipes can produce. Please experience it through the video.
