This project features a bike that caught our editorial team's eye from the MY BIKE posts on the Webike Community. This time, we're featuring the SUZUKI "TS50 Hustler," owned by "Ikkun1903."
TS50 Hustler (50cc) Owner: Ikkun1903
The "Hustler" series from Suzuki is a legendary model that once defined the off-road motorcycle genre. Among them, the TS50 Hustler was supported by many young riders as a model that allowed them to enjoy authentic off-road riding with just a moped license. Equipped with an air-cooled 2-stroke single-cylinder engine, it achieved agile performance in combination with its lightweight body. It was a driving force behind the off-road boom from the 1970s to the 1980s, and its classic styling and the peaky engine characteristics unique to 2-strokes continue to fascinate many vintage bike enthusiasts today. As it has been discontinued for a long time, models in good condition are now rare and valuable.
Owner Ikkun1903 acquired this 1979 TS50 Hustler with the motivation of "wanting to experience the ride of a pre-regulation 2-stroke." They affectionately nicknamed their beloved bike "TS502" and seem to be fully enjoying the unique charm and design of Suzuki from the 1970s. It's wonderful that they are taking great care of it while maintaining its current condition, despite facing the difficulties of parts supply inherent to vintage bikes.
<From the MY BIKE Comments>
■Reason for Purchase, Usage, Comparison Models
Wanted to experience the ride of a pre-regulation 2-stroke.
■Strengths
Solid powerband and an engine that revs to high RPMs.
Charm and good design of a 70s Suzuki.
■Weaknesses
The tank is small, so it's a bit weak for long distances.
■Advice for Future Buyers
Parts are becoming quite difficult to find, so restoring the air cleaner area, inner tubes, etc., to original condition will be challenging.
Top-end parts are also hard to come by.
■Future Customization Plans
Maintain current condition and extend its healthy lifespan.
