ZRX1200R (1200cc) Owner: Take-san

The ZRX series, introduced in 1997, became popular as a sporty naked model that combined the lineage of Kawasaki's traditional Z-series naked models with modern riding performance. Among them, the 1200cc ZRX1200R, with its powerful engine and excellent handling, has continued to captivate many riders as a representative of large naked bikes. Even now, years after its release, its appeal remains undiminished, and it enjoys strong popularity in the used market.

Take-san was drawn to the ZRX series' style from its initial release. However, due to factors like when they obtained their license, they eventually fell in love at first sight with this ZRX1200R (2005 model), which they named "Super Cyclone," and decided to purchase it immediately. After obtaining their license, they started their long-awaited motorcycle life. They thoroughly enjoy "Super Cyclone" for active pursuits such as touring and motorcycle camping.

Comments from MY BIKE

Motivation for Purchase / Usage / Comparison Models

Motivation for Purchase: I had been interested in the ZRX since its release, but I didn't have a motorcycle license and couldn't quite make up my mind. Then the 1200 DAEG was discontinued! A few years later, I happened to stop by a motorcycle shop and saw the 1200R. It was love at first sight, and I bought it on the spot, then got my license.
Usage: Touring and motorcycle camping.
Comparison Models: None in particular.

Strengths

The torque is incredibly strong; it accelerates endlessly even from 5th gear just by opening the throttle. The chassis is compact for a large bike, so even someone small like me can handle it.
The fuel economy is better than I expected, around 20km/L during normal riding.

Weaknesses

For me, the weight is a bit heavy, so I have to be careful when maneuvering it.

Advice for Potential Buyers

As long as you perform regular maintenance, there are no particular breakdowns. Be prepared for the cost of consumables, as it is a large displacement motorcycle.

Future Customization Plans

Brake and clutch components.
