In the 2026 MotoGP season, seven different winners have already emerged by the end of Round 12, matching the total number of different winners from the entire 2025 season. With Jorge Martín leading the championship and riders like Ai Ogura achieving their first victories, the season is seeing a diverse range of competitors. All eyes are now on whether the record for the most different winners in a single season, currently nine, will be broken.

2026 Season Sees Seven Winners by Round 12

The 2026 MotoGP season continues to be a closely contested battle, with seven different riders securing victories by the conclusion of Round 12. The season kicked off with Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia Racing taking three consecutive wins. Following that, Álex Márquez of BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP achieved a home victory in Jerez. Jorge Martín of Aprilia Racing then won at Le Mans and currently leads the championship standings.

In the subsequent Catalan GP, Fabio Di Giannantonio of Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team took the win, and at Balaton Park, Marc Márquez of Ducati Lenovo Team secured his first victory of the season. Furthermore, Ai Ogura of SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team achieved his maiden win in Assen, followed by his teammate Raúl Fernández at Silverstone, who became the seventh different winner of the season.

The Championship Battle Heading to Aragon GP and New Potential Winners

As the season heads to the next round in Aragon, championship leader Jorge Martín holds a 31-point lead. With 10 rounds remaining, the season is on pace to surpass the record of nine different winners set in 2016.

Looking ahead to the second half of the season, potential new winners include Pedro Acosta of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, last year's champion Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati Lenovo Team, and Fermín Aldeguer of BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP, who is set to make a comeback. Alongside the fierce title fight, the latter half of the season promises exciting racing as the record for the most winners is challenged.
