This feature picks up a bike that caught our editorial team's eye from the MY BIKE posts on the Webike Community and introduces it to you. This time, we're featuring the HONDA "XR100 Motard," owned by "nu-bukyo-taro-san".

XR100 Motard (100cc) Owner: nu-bukyo-taro-san

Released in 2005, the Honda XR100 Motard gained popularity as a model that allowed riders to enjoy a full-fledged motard style in the moped class. Equipped with an air-cooled 4-stroke OHC single-cylinder engine, it was characterized by its easy-to-handle power output and lightweight, compact body. Featuring 12-inch cast wheels and disc brakes front and rear, it had the potential to handle a wide range of riding, from city commuting to sporty riding on mini-bike courses. Although some time has passed since its production ended, it remains a popular model in the used market due to its ease of use and the abundance of custom parts.

The owner, nu-bukyo-taro-san, uses this XR100 Motard, which his father chose for him as his first motorcycle, for everything from daily commutes to weekend touring. The nickname "Kurozaru" (Black Monkey) also conveys his affection for it. He seems to be fully enjoying the unique pleasures of a 100cc bike, such as using it with a transporter, taking advantage of its lightness and small size.

<From the MY BIKE Comment>

■Reason for Purchase, Usage, Compared Models

Ignoring my strong protests that the CBR125 would be better when preparing my first bike, my dad chose this bike for me. (cough cough)
Daily commute, walks after work, and weekend touring.

■Strengths

Small!! And light!!!!
With the riding position, it feels almost like a bicycle.
Fuel economy easily exceeds 30km/L, so there are no complaints at all.

■Weaknesses

Being a 100cc, there's no denying it feels a bit strained even when cruising at 60km/h...

■Advice for Future Buyers

Maintenance costs are so light, I don't think you need to worry about them!
Even if you fall and can't ride it, if you remove the mirrors, you can recover it with a light wagon like an Every (verified), so you can even attempt longer distances that might seem a bit reckless!
It's not too small, making it just right for the fun of taking it far away by car and riding it there!

■Future Custom Plans

I want to change the wheels to spoke wheels, put block pattern tires on, paint the body matte olive drab, and add various guards and a rear side carrier to create a custom look like a military reconnaissance vehicle!
Since the US military uses the KLX110, it should look good!
Eventually, I want to take it to airsoft games together...
