This project picks up and introduces one motorcycle that the editorial department is interested in from the MY bikes posted on the Webike community. This time, we are featuring the HONDA "Monkey 125", and the owner is "B-ji-chan".

Monkey 125 (125cc) Owner: B-ji-chan

Honda's "Monkey 125" is a leisure model that has been scaled up to suit modern traffic conditions while inheriting the DNA of the original 50cc Monkey, which was loved for over half a century. Since its debut in 2018, it has been highly acclaimed for its 125cc engine that provides a relaxed ride and authentic equipment such as front and rear disc brakes and inverted front forks, while inheriting iconic designs such as the characteristic trapezoidal silhouette, rounded fuel tank, and thick tuck-roll seat.

The appeal lies in its depth, which allows it to handle everything from daily commuting to touring, while maintaining its easy-to-handle size and the fun of puttering around. There is also a wide lineup of custom parts, and the fun of finishing it into a bike that suits your own tastes is still alive and well.

B-ji-chan, who we are introducing this time, reached his 60s and considered it as his "final bike," comparing it with the Dax and Cub. He chose the Monkey 125 because he values the fun of manual operation. He calls his beloved bike "Mon-chan" and seems to be fully enjoying the good fuel economy when riding leisurely at the legal speed limit, as well as the lightness of handling that is unique to a Class 2 moped. Although he has to compromise on loading capacity, it is clear that he is greatly enjoying it as a partner for his second life that specializes in riding, including future custom plans.

■ Purchase motivation, usage, and comparison models

I thought about my final bike as I reached my 60s.
I worried about the Dax, Cub, and Monkey.
But in the end, I decided on the Monkey because I want to enjoy shifting UP! and down!

■ Pros

If you ride properly at the legal speed limit, the fuel economy is extremely good! Since it's a Class 2 moped, I can turn around immediately even if I take a wrong turn!
I think that's a strength of Class 2 mopeds, not just the Monkey!

■ Cons

Loading capacity is almost zero! It's a bike for riding!

■ Advice for those who will buy one in the future

For day camping, the Cub is the only choice!
The Dax is the second bike for those who already own a larger displacement motorcycle!
I think the Monkey is the one for those who only want a Class 2 moped?

■ Future custom plans

I think I want to get it closer to the G-Craft Monkey I experienced at the 2026 Tokyo Motor Show?

That was B-ji-chan, who is fully enjoying his beloved bike, which he named Mon-chan, in search of the fun of manual operation.
