The Tenere700, which was unveiled at the 2016 EICMA under the name "T7 Concept" had off-roaders waiting with bated breath until it went on sale in Japan in July of 2020. It was developed as a new model with a ratio of "on-road:off-road = 1:9," making it almost totally designed for off-road use! Here, we will introduce some of the most popular custom parts that can maximize the appeal of this bike!

What is "Tenere" anyway?

The name "Tenere" is derived from the Tenere Desert in Niger, located in the middle of the Paris-Dakar route. The word itself means "a place with nothing" and it is one of the most high-speed sections of the Paris-Dakar Rally.

After winning many Paris-Dakar races, including the very first, Yamaha gave this name to a rally replica model, the XT600 Tenere, when it was released in 1983. Since then, subsequent adventure bikes have carried on the Tenere name.

When customizing, the first thing to do is replace the exhaust!

YAMAHA Y'S GEAR：Engine Guard

An option part made by the bike's manufacturer is always reliable! This will cover you from accidentally tipping over on the street to taking falls on forest roads. You can also install an LED fog light kit using the fog light bracket (sold separately)!

AXP RACING: Adventure Skid Plate

Made of 8mm thick HDPE (high-density polyethylene), which is highly durable and lightweight. It combines flexibility and strength, and will not be deformed by impact like metal guards would. The sides are also well guarded to protect the water pump, and the integrated structure that extends to the rear to protect even the links is awesome.

There are very few under guards that guard these two points. It will reduce the likelihood of the water pump cover cracking and leaving you stranded, and you won't have to experience those times when you notice the link has been bent somewhere along the way!

ZETA: Adventure Armor Hand Guard

Aluminum hand guard with bolt-on installation exclusively for Tenere700 stock handlebars. Specially designed for a strong and secure fit. The special U-clamp prevents interference with the cowl and tank as well as hoses and wires. Furthermore, a stopper function is included to reduce the risk of damage to the meter or other components in the event of a fall. A special bar end that can be directly attached to the stock handlebar is also included! In general, most people install universal hand guards, but many problems can occur, such as not being able to install the clamps in the right position, or the curve not being correct and interfering with the levers. This product is exclusively designed for each bike model, so it can truly be just bolted-on!

RC Koshien: Headlight Protector

The Tenere700 is equipped with projector headlights with a large area that are very expensive. To minimize damage caused by rocks, this product was created. To install, simply affix 3M Dual Lock fasteners (heavy-duty Velcro) to the surface of the headlight and install. Removal is also easy.

Made by the suspension professionals, NITRON. This is a high level suspension developed in the UK, where there are many racing-related suppliers!

For an adventure machine with a large chassis and a full load of luggage, aiming for its destination despite rough roads, the suspension must be tough enough to withstand the hardest conditions and provide comfort for long rides. SW-MOTECH: Center Stand

A center stand is essential for maintenance and storing the bike in winter.
