New Electric Scooter with Acceleration Equivalent to 160cc Class
Honda Vietnam (HVN) began sales of the new electric scooter "UC3" on June 26, 2026, at 83 electric vehicle-handling HEAD stores in 20 provinces and cities across Vietnam. This model was announced in January of this year and was previewed for release in Thailand and Vietnam. It is equipped with an electric motor with an output of approximately 6.0 kW, delivering acceleration performance comparable to 160cc gasoline vehicles and a top speed of 82 km/h. Currently, there are no announcements regarding its release in Japan.
The battery is an LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery that complies with the waterproof standard IP67 and safety standard UNR136. It is said to offer a range of approximately 120 km on a single charge. The vehicle features regenerative braking, CBS, three riding modes (Standard, Sport, and Eco), and a reverse mode to assist with backing up. The charging system is compatible with the international standard CHAdeMO, and a full charge can be achieved in about 4 hours using the included 1,200W charger.
Equipment includes a 5-inch TFT LCD meter compatible with Honda RoadSync, a smart key system, a 26L under-seat storage compartment, and a USB Type-C charging port. Two grades are available: "Special Edition" and "Standard Edition." The suggested retail prices, including sales promotion programs, are 57.92 million VND (approximately 350,000 JPY) for the Special Edition and starting from 56,545,455 VND (approximately 340,000 JPY) for the Standard Edition.
Rollout of "Honda Motor Charger Hub" Charging Infrastructure and Warranty System
In conjunction with the vehicle launch, HVN is rolling out "Honda Motor Charger Hub" fast-charging stations, primarily at electric vehicle-handling stores in major cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. These stations are equipped with 1,200W charging ports that adopt the CHAdeMO standard, and charging locations and payments can be managed through the MyHonda+ app. The charging fee is set at 7,020 VND (approximately 42 JPY) per session.
In terms of after-sales service, a 3-year warranty (unlimited mileage) is provided for the vehicle body, and a 2-year warranty for the battery. Furthermore, the battery warranty can be extended by one year by performing regular inspections. Comprehensive support is also in place to ensure worry-free ownership of electric vehicles, including a vehicle buy-back guarantee within three years of purchase and a complimentary one-year roadside assistance service for initial purchasers.
