Returning for FP1 of the Austrian GP; continuation to be determined after the session

AiOgura (number 79), who rides for the Superfile Trackhouse MotoGP Team, will return starting from Free Practice 1 (FP1) of the Austrian GP held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. He passed the preliminary medical check conducted on Thursday and has been granted permission to ride his bike, the RS-GP26.

Ogura injured his hand in a crash during motocross training and missed the recent Aragon GP and San Marino GP (Misano). For this Austrian GP, he is scheduled to undergo another medical check after riding in Friday morning's FP1, which will determine whether he can continue for the remainder of the weekend's sessions.

Regarding news related to Ogura, it has been announced that a limited edition Japanese GP replica helmet, the "RX-7X OGURA TRACKHOUSE" by Arai Helmet, will be released in April 2026. Additionally, it has been revealed that EneaBastianini will transfer to the same team starting in 2027, as of August 2026.

"I'm in good enough condition to ride the bike," comments AiOgura

Regarding his return, Ogura commented, "I had a medical check and at least got permission to ride tomorrow morning. My hand is in good enough condition to ride the bike, so I'm not expecting anything special this weekend, but I'm happy to be back." Regarding the accident during training that caused the injury, he explained, "It was a normal crash, but the way I put my hand on the ground was bad. It was a really unlucky situation."

He also revealed his target for returning, stating, "I was aiming for a return in Austria. Misano was a bit too early, and the track layout wasn't ideal for returning from an injury." His participation in the weekend's sessions will be finally decided after the re-evaluation following FP1.
