Toni Bou of Repsol Honda HRC showcased overwhelming strength at the third round of the 2026 TrialGP World Championship held in Cameriño, securing two victories and further extending his lead in the championship standings. His teammate, Gabriel Marcelli, finished in fifth place after a challenging race.
Bou Unbeatable in Cameriño
Repsol Honda HRC got off to a strong start at the third round of the TrialGP in Cameriño, Italy, the first time the championship has been held there since 1992. Toni Bou minimized errors in Race 1, winning with just 12 penalty points, a victory that further solidified his position at the top of the championship.
In the Superpole for Race 2, Bou recorded the fastest time of 0 minutes and 30.03 seconds. Race 2 saw a fierce battle for the win with Matteo Grattarola, but Bou seized an opportunity when Grattarola made a mistake in the final section, securing his second victory of the day.
Bou commented, "I am very satisfied with how the bike felt today and with the work of the team. Things have been going very smoothly since the start of the season. My goal for tomorrow is to maintain this pace and fight for the win again."
Marcelli Struggles but Recovers in Race 2
Meanwhile, it was a tough day for teammate Gabriel Marcelli. In Race 1, a series of mistakes led to a sixth-place finish. He secured a third-fastest time in Superpole with 0 minutes and 35.07 seconds, giving him a good starting position for the latter half of the race.
In Race 2, he improved his performance amidst the intense heat, engaging in a battle for a podium finish. He ultimately finished in fourth place, just one point behind third-placed Jaime Busto, showing a strong recovery from his struggles in Race 1.
Marcelli stated, "It was a tough day, and I'm not completely satisfied. Tomorrow is a new day. I need to reset my mind and approach it from scratch."
In the championship standings, Bou leads with 200 points, while Marcelli maintains second place with 147 points.
