A One-Make Race Series with Over 30 Years of History in Indonesia

The second round of the "Yamaha Cup Race (YCR) 2026," a one-make race series with over 30 years of history in Indonesia, was held on August 1-2, 2026, at a special course around the Stan Shariel Air Force Base in Padang, West Sumatra. This marks the first time the event has been held in Padang in 11 years, since 2015. Furthermore, this competition was positioned as part of the official events celebrating the 357th anniversary of Padang City's founding, attracting significant attention from local motorsport fans and citizens.

The main road race consisted of 14 classes, with fierce competition in various categories including expert, novice, and rookie classes using the underbone model "MX King 150," as well as 2-stroke 125cc and sport 140cc classes. Additionally, a new "YCR 10 Endurance Gear Ultima" equal condition endurance race was established, providing 10 "GEAR Ultima" scooters, which thrilled the audience with intense dogfights.

Furthermore, the "MAXi Race" targeting the increasingly popular MAXi scooter series and the "Yamalube Turbo Matic Drag Battle," a competition for straight-line acceleration, were held concurrently. In the drag race, machines such as the "AEROX Turbo," "NMAX 155," "LEXi LX 155," and "XMAX" roared across 10 categories. A "Dyno Jet" contest was also held to measure maximum horsepower using a chassis dynamometer, where various custom scooters with bore-up tunes showcased their powerful performance.

In the exhibition area surrounding the circuit, multifaceted events enjoyable for families were held concurrently, including Sunday Morning Touring (Sunmori), dance contests, performances by local high school students, ZUMBA dance, and a local UMKM (Small and Medium Enterprise) bazaar. The event was live-streamed on the YouTube channel "Yamaha Racing Indonesia," delivering the exciting races not only to local fans but also to fans across the country.
