We had a chance to photograph the Kawasaki Z650RS demo bike created by DAYTONA as it made its debut at the Osaka Motorcycle Show. All of the parts are bolt-on, in true DAYTONA fashion.

DAYTONA + SP Tadao + Kawasaki Stock Accessories

In the past, parts manufacturers usually used only their own products on their demo bikes, but recently it has become common to use parts made by other companies, even if there are no plans to release them in conjunction.

This Z650RS was no exception as it was equipped with parts that are not made by DAYTONA. In particular, the Power Box Full Exhaust by SP Tadao is even a prototype model that was not yet on the market at the time. It looks so natural on the bike that many people may have overlooked it.

■The Z650RS demo bike displayed at the DAYTONA booth, with SP Tadao's prototype exhaust installed. Even though this is a prototype, the level of perfection makes it look like it's already on the market.

■Orders for the finished product can be made now and this SP Tadao Power Box Full Exhaust will start shipping from the end of September.

No shortage of DAYTONA parts

After all, this demo bike is from the DAYTONA booth, so of course it is full of DAYTONA products. They have packed on as many of their existing universal products as possible, so this bike is a good example if you want to check out how those look installed.

■The brake master cylinders are NISSIN with a separate reservoir tank. A horizontal φ14mm master cylinder was selected to match the caliper. Various color combinations can be selected for the lever and body. The combination on the demo bike is body: black, lever: buff clear.

■View of the cockpit which includes a handlebar clamp, machined straight bar for clip-on handlebars, AQUAPROVA HG temp meter, tank pad, and fuel cap pad (potting type) KAWSAKI 3. The high-visibility mirrors are still under development and the bracket for the temp meter is a sample exhibit.

■The combination of a NISSIN Smoke Tank for Brake Master and PREMIUM ZONE Master Cylinder Tank Cap [NISSIN Φ59]. This is something fun you can do since the master cylinder has been replaced with a separate reservoir tank type!

■This is the prototype for the PREMIUM ZONE handlebar end plug TECHNO universal type that went on sale from May 2023 for 7,920 JPY (tax included). Many owners want to up the appearance of their plain rubber grips, so this aluminum base-integrated grip called the GRIPPY GRIP was designed.

■Rear area with fender eliminator kit, ED blinker D-Light SOL, PREMIUM ZONE license plate holder set, and assist grip. The chain guard is a sample exhibit, but looks promising as well.

■The front disc is a prototype made by BRAKING, a DAYTONA affiliated company, that went on sale in June at 34,980 JPY (tax included). That's about 70,000 JPY for both left and right discs, but there is no doubt that the braking capacity and brake touch will be greatly improved. It's definitely a valid purchase when you think about the fact that you are "buying safety".

■The engine guard and radiator cap are made by DAYTONA.

■SP Tadao's Power Box exhaust stands out, but be sure to check out the PREMIUM ZONE Rider Side Step PZR-03 and PREMIUM ZONE Passenger Side Step PZP-08 type2 for KAWASAKI. A rotary plate (repair part for the multi-steps) is installed for a slight raise of the step. The Polysport engine cover is a prototype under development and the price has yet to be determined. The oil filler cap is unfortunately discontinued and unavailable.
