Cremona Circuit becomes the 7th venue in Italy

It has been announced that the Cremona Circuit will be added as a new venue for the Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK). It will be the 7th circuit in Italy to host the event, following Monza, Mugello, Vallelunga, Imola, Misano, and Pergusa.

For the championship as a whole, it will be the 53rd track to host a race, following Most, Navarra, and Mandalika, which were introduced in 2021. In Italy, a country with a deep history in motorsports, especially two-wheeled racing, a party-like atmosphere with enthusiastic fans cheering for local riders is expected at Cremona as well.

Heading into the 2024 Italian Round, the record for the most victories in the country is held by Jonathan Rea. Rea has recorded a total of 17 wins, with 9 at Imola and 8 at Misano.

Following him is Troy Bayliss with 14 wins. Bayliss has achieved victories at four different Italian circuits: 1 at Imola, 6 at Misano, 6 at Monza, and 1 at Vallelunga. Attention is now focused on what kind of racing will unfold at the new stage, the Cremona Circuit.
