Webike's Opinion
Here is a "HONDA APE100" custom by Webike community user "Kuroan". The owner, a returning rider, purchased the APE100 with the simple desire to leisurely cruise on a small bike. According to the owner, it’s a bike best suited for those with patience, looking to enjoy slow, short-distance touring under 100 kilometers. However, he warns that the bike’s inexpensive and abundant parts can quickly lure you into a customization rabbit hole. When the owner initially bought the bike, it was already equipped with several modifications, including a Yoshimura exhaust, a KITACO meter, and a PC20 carburetor. Believing there wouldn’t be much left to modify, he thought he’d leave it as is. But before long, he found himself removing all the stock exterior parts, transforming the bike’s shape and color completely. Though this machine started life as an APE100, it now lives a second life as a miniature CB1300.
The owner’s favorite feature is the flowing pattern on the side covers, painted in candy red over a pearl white base. Crafted personally by the owner, it adds a striking accent to the bike, reminiscent of a crane soaring through the sky. Another favorite is the SAITANIYA Rear Fender designed for the NSR, painted black on the inside and candy red on the outside, with its stylish mesh design adding flair. The KITACO Aero Down Fender, also painted candy red, brings a unified look to the bike.
One of the most challenging customizations was the KITACO Big Fuel Tank. Matching the candy red sections to the distinct shape of the CB1300 and deciding on the placement and size of the wing emblem proved a maze of deliberation, with the owner revisiting the details repeatedly. Similarly, mounting the MADMAX Bikini Cowl was no easy task. It required opening the headlight to pull out the turn signal wiring and crafting custom spacers to fill the gap between the cowl and headlight. Now in its sixth year of ownership, the owner continues to enjoy 4-mini customization with fellow APE enthusiasts.
