"The Kawasaki ZRX series may all look quite similar at first glance, but the 1100/1200/DAEG models each have their own unique characteristics. Recognizing these differences as an owner becomes a significant element in enjoying the ZRX," says Mr. Takigawa, manager of the main store at Shabon Dama. Mr. Takigawa has been riding the ZRX1100 for nearly 25 years since its first release, experimenting with various customizations, riding on both streets and race tracks, and still continues to enjoy it. Therefore, he understands the fads of the time and what works for any era up to the present. He explained to us the details of this ZRX1200R Custom.

"This bike is an example of an 'If I were to modify the ZRX1200R now, this is what I would like' package. The intake and exhaust systems have been replaced, and the wheels are forged. Both the front and rear suspensions have been changed as well. The front brake is reinforced with a Brembo master/caliper and Sunstar disc. Other than that, the position was firmly tailored to the owner, and the exterior is finished with a full paint job. Similar to the DAEG model, the ZRX1200R has chrome-plated cylinders, and engine modifications are relatively rare. The front fork offset is 28mm, different from the 30mm of the 1100/DAEG. The swingarm length and shock length also differ from both the 1100 and DAEG models. Not to be taken as a negative, but the 1200 seems to be incomplete among the ZRX series. It would be better to say that it was in the middle of evolution," says Mr. Takigawa. Handle

The handlebars are set low with a straight type. The current mileage is over 26,000 kilometers. The left and right radial masters are GALE SPEED Elaborate.

Bodyworks

Exterior parts such as the fuel tank and front cowl are all painted in vermillion + gold/white pinstripes reminiscent of the Z1000Mk.

The tail area is fitted with a fender eliminator kit to give it a clean look, incorporating small turn signals. The grab bar is also painted in the body color for a unified appearance.

Fluid leakage from the clutch release is another point to note. The front sprocket cover is Posh and the steps are Striker.

Engine

The engine, including the left and right covers, remains in the stock condition of the ZRX1200R. Frame sliders are Moriwaki Engineering, and the right-side engine slider is from AGRAS (black).

Intake & Exhaust

The carburetor is FCR-MJN, which is combined/set up with a titanium full exhaust by HARADA SHOUONKI to reduce weight and improve power.

Chassis

The front forks are Ohlins uprights clamped with the stock stem. The front brake is a combination of Brembo CNC caliper and Sunstar disc.

The rear brake has a stock caliper and disc. The rear shock is Ohlins and the swingarm is stock, but there were plans to replace it after the photoshoot.

The front and rear wheels are forged aluminum GALE SPEED Type-R, the same size as the stock 3.50-17/5.50-17 inch. The drive chain is RK.
