New Car] New KTM Enduro Series Announced for 2026! 11 models including the road-legal "EXC-F" and the new 2-stroke "XC-W" to be introduced in Japan!

KTM Japan has announced the 2026 Enduro models to be introduced in Japan. There will be three models in the EXC-F series, four in the XC-W series, and four in the 6DAYS series, for a total of 11 models.

2-strokes also remain in the 2026 Enduro models.

One of the most notable changes in the 2026 models is that the composition ratio of 2-stroke models to be introduced in Japan will be different than in the past. The "XC-W" series is based on the "EXC" series and is a specialized model for competition use. Although it is equipped with a headlight and tail lamp, it is not homologated for public roads and is designed for closed courses, making it a simpler model compared to the "EXC" series. As a result, the price is lower than that of the EXC series. However, like the EXC series, it is equipped with features that give top priority to enduro riding. For example, the XC-W series also features PDS rear shock technology, which is said to be the most reliable and easy to maintain in hard rock sections, and is equipped with typical features of KTM's enduro models. For the 2026 model year, the XC-W series will be the main component of the 2-stroke model lineup, while the existing EXC series will be introduced only in certain displacements. The EXC-F series of 4-stroke models will continue to be road-legal models.

EXC-F model

In Europe, the EXC-F models are used in enduro racing. Some EXC-F models are homologated for road-going registration (EU models have power limits to pass noise and emissions tests) and are factory-fitted with road-going parts.

XC-W Model

The "XC" in "XC-W" stands for "Cross Country" and the "W" stands for "Wide Ratio Transmission" (XC-W=EXC). The "XC-W" model is almost identical to the European "EXC" model, except that the "XC-W" model does not have homologation features on the front lights and taillights. All "XC-W" models are designed for closed-course competition only. All "XC-W" models have headlights (without high beam) and taillights, but no brake lights. In addition, the "XC-W" models do not come with any components for public road use.
