Yoshimura Japan's X (formerly Twitter) account, "Yoshimura Staff Daily (@Yoshimura_sales)," posted a photo on October 7, 2026, of a slip-on muffler installed on the new Honda CB400 Super Four E-Clutch. The caption read, "I won't say what it is, but it passed successfully," and included the hashtag "#CB400SF."
"I won't say what it is": Both staff and the official account are teasing it
The photo shows the muffler of the CB400 Super Four taken from the front right. The rear cowl still has protective plastic wrap on it, and the rear tire looks almost brand new. It has the atmosphere of being fresh from delivery.
The muffler in the image uploaded by Yoshimura has a shape very similar to the "Slip-On Cyclone" sold for models like the CB1000F, featuring a standard cylindrical silencer shape. Since a metal fixing band can be seen in the center of the tailpipe near the footrest, it appears to be a slip-on type that replaces the silencer section.

A comparison with the stock muffler (right), although the angle is slightly different. The sportiness is emphasized.

This is the "Slip-On Cyclone" for the CB1000F, which goes on sale in mid-November. The shape is close to the CB400SF muffler posted on X.
Compared to the stock version, it appears slightly slimmer and the upward angle is more pronounced, further enhancing its sporty look. The official Yoshimura Japan account (@Yoshimura_JPN) also quoted this post, commenting, "I won't say what it is, but stay tuned!" The fact that a Mazda Roadster with the Yoshimura logo is visible in the background is also somewhat suggestive.
While companies like R's Gear and TSR have released information that they are developing mufflers for the new CB400SF, no products have been released yet. Expectations are high for when Yoshimura's CB400SF muffler will be officially announced.

The new CB400 Super Four, released in August, is selling well
The new CB400 Super Four E-Clutch, which was released at Honda Dream dealerships nationwide on August 21, has reportedly been selling well, with 2,700 orders placed in about half a month since its release, exceeding half of its annual sales target of 4,600 units. Both the engine and chassis are completely newly designed, and the E-Clutch, which eliminates the need for clutch operation, comes as standard equipment. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is 998,800 yen (including 10% consumption tax).
NoahSeren, who wrote a test ride review for Webike Plus, highly praised the low-speed tenacity that allows shifting up to 6th gear immediately after starting, the smooth high-RPM revving characteristic of an inline-four, and the handling that feels lighter than the previous NC42 model. He agreed with the development team's description of it as "a bike like high-quality white rice," stating that the new CB400SF is a highly perfected standard bike, just like its predecessors.
