K-FACTORY's ZX-25R
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R, a new 250cc straight-four engine supersport that was unveiled at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show and launched less than a year later in September 2020, has been a source of excitement in the motorcycle industry. This Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R is a demo motorcycle built by K-Factory based on the KRT EDITION, an SE model equipped with an auto shifter and other features.
The most notable change is the installation of a all titanium 4-1 full exhaust system hexagon silencer. This exhaust compared to the stock exhuast, which equipped with short silencer and a matte black finish, has a beautiful blue heated color exhaust pipe that can be seen through the under cowl and the gold finished silencer that extends to the rear, is very impressive. The sound produced by this exhaust is also noteworthy. It is reminiscent of a high-end supercar, and you can enjoy not only the exhaust note, but also the sound that changes with shifting up and down and when the throttle is fully closed. This is a successful combination of FI + auto shifter that could not be achieved with the previous 250cc straight-4 engine. The sound is produced by billet caps mounted on the front and rear of the silencer. They are made of billet aluminum, which is K-Factory's specialty, instead of the common press molding. Its aim is to cut high-frequency sound. If everything were made light and thin, the exhaust sound would be high-pitched and light, which is often seen in ultra high-revving 250cc straight-4 engines. However, by combining parts with mass, the resonance of the exhaust can be reduced. The result is a lower, tighter sound. This sound has a sense of massiveness that is comparable to that of a 600cc supersport, and has a quality that is better than the previous one. And the high quality of the apperance, consisting of billet caps and full titanium, is also appealing. The Ninja ZX-25R's stock sound is attractive, but when combined with riding rearsets, clip-on handlebars, and other positional parts, it adds even more value. This impressive customization shows why they dared to choose 250cc.
Handle
The quick-release type clip-on handlebars, designed for quick replacement in racing, allow for adjustable hanging angles of either 5 degrees or 10 degrees. The bars themselves are made of Extra Super Duralumin with a diameter of Φ22.2mm and a length of 260mm. The clamp section, made of Super Duralumin, is available in two color options, titanium and stay gold.
The brake lever guard is a universal type that fits both the clutch side and brake side, accommodating handlebar inner diameters of 14/16/19mm. Additionally, the guard angle can be selected from five different positions.
Bodyworks
The K-Factory engine sliders are designed to be installed using the engine mounts without the need for modifying the cowls. They are compatible with both the Ninja ZX-25R SE/SE KRT Edition, although the Ninja ZX-25R STD requires additional OEM parts for installation. The sliders are made from durakon material and manufactured through NC machining, featuring a functional design that prioritizes shock absorption by incorporating a hard rubber insert between the slider and the base.
The front axle slider is also made of duracon with K-FACTORY logo. The base plate has a special anodized stay gold color finish.
The stainless steel fender eliminator kit allows for the use of the stock lisence plate holder, blinkers, and cargo hooks. It is designed to provide a clean look to the rear section by slightly angling downwards and shortening the length of the stock license plate, while extending it horizontally towards the ground. The photo shown is a prototype, and the actual production version is lightened.
Engine
The radiator core guard is made of stainless steel honeycomb mesh. The center section features a fine mesh pattern to prevent debris kicked up by the tires, while the sides utilize a coarse mesh design to enhance ventilation.
Intake & Exhaust
The exhaust system consists of a full exhaust Hexagon silencer with a 4-1 configuration and a catalytic converter. The front and rear caps of the Hexagon silencer are made of milled aluminum and finished with buffing, providing a seamless construction and achieving a high-quality sound output.
The left side of the photo shows the front of the bike. The catalytic converter is designed to fit just after the merge collector. The section from the exhaust pipe to the tail pipe is made of titanium.
Chassis
The position of the riding rearsets can be adjusted to UP 30mm or 40mm, BACK 0mm or 10mm. It is compatible with both bikes equipped with a quick shifter and those without, and allows for reverse shifting as well.
The knurling on the footpeg of the K-Factory Riding rearsets has a zigzag pattern that allows the rider to step firmly even on the tip of the bar. The "change shaft holder" that supports the root of the change shaft makes shifting feel smooth and reliable.
